Hillsborough County Comes to the Capitol
March 25th, 2015 by Mike VasilindaA pirate stormed through legislation offices today passing out beads and posing for pictures with lawmakers and staff as part of Hillsborough day in the State Capitol. The annual fest fed cuban sandwiches to more than a thousand people and offered stunts from the Museum of Science along with exhibits from the Lowery Park Zoo and Busch gardens. County Commissioner Victor Crist says the county has to be in the Capitol to compete with other regions.
We’re developing the downtown are of Tampa and certainly the University of South Florida’s new medical school would be a crown jewel to have there. There’s a laundry list of other issues that are going on in Hillsborough County, we’re up here fighting for out cause.”
The events were funded by local businesses.
