State Sets up Hotline for Mad Parents
May 21st, 2012 by flanewsThe first ever FCAT hotline is now available to parents who have questions about their children’s scores. The call center is a response to last week’s surprisingly low FCAT reading results and the outrage from parents. Kelly Sealy, a hotline operator, says a lot of callers are just looking to voice their frustrations.
“They want to know when the rest of the FCAT is going to be released. And of course, we’ve had a lot of questions about the FCAT writing, and the fact that we dropped the score from a 4 to a 3. That decision was made by the State Board of Education, and they have some concerns about that. And then, some of them kinda just want to vent and tell us their thoughts on all of education,” said Sealy.
The hotline is open from seven to seven Monday through Friday. The number is 866-507-1109.
