Riding for a Cause
February 15th, 2011 by flanewsA group of about a dozen cancer survivors, researchers and doctors from Tampa crossed the finish line at the state capitol today. The group biked to Tallahassee to raise awareness for cancer research and remind lawmakers of the work that’s being done at the Moffitt Cancer Centers. Moffitt CEO Bill Dalton says it’s important for the state to keep funding the Research Center.
Florida has the second highest number of cancer patients in the nation, but Moffitt is the only National Cancer Institute in the state.
