Problems with Foreclosure Moratorium
December 23rd, 2008 by Mike VasilindaThere have been reports from some counties that a voluntary moratorium on mortgage foreclosures has not worked. Manatee County, on the state’s west coast is showing the same number of foreclosures as last month. Asked about the trend, the Governor says he thinks the moratorium, on whole, is working.
“We have no indication that it’s not working,” Crist said. “So I certainly hope that it is.”
In early December, The Governor and the state’s bankers said they would hold off on foreclosures for 45 days.
