November 20th, 2008 by Mike VasilindaToday’s the day to put down those smokes for good. Ten years ago, the rest of the nation followed Florida’s lead in settling with Big Tobacco. Today, the Lawton Chiles Endowment Fund may be the saviour of a faltering state budget.
Legislation is also being pushed to increase the cigarette tax by a dollar a pack. Check out this chart of where Florida ranks nationally.
