AG against Drilling off Coast
July 1st, 2008 by flanewsAnother Cabinet member came out in opposition to drilling off of Florida�s coast. Attorney General Bill McCollum said he�s against opening Florida�s coast to oil rigs. McCollum said oil companies have plenty of land in the gulf they�re not using for drilling. McCollum said drilling in Florida won�t have a real impact on gas prices.
�Any kind of whole sale opening of the coast line of Florida to drilling is unnecessary to the bottom line to the energy needs of our country,� said McCollum.
Last month Governor Charlie Crist changed his stance on drilling near Florida�s coast.
